GIAHC is happy to report that the Us vs. HPV webinar series was a grand success. There were an average of 400 hundred participants registered for each day with an average of 185 live participants per day. We are continuing to notice that several are accessing the recordings post webinar, to hear the talks. You can access the recordings here.
The audience was engaged and asked excellent questions, driving rich discussions. There was a lot of interest around the HPV vaccine. There were several requests during our student presentation for the game that they have created to play with middle and high schools students as a part of their outreach activities. You can read more about the GIAHC Young Leaders program here.
In addition, we screened the Lady Ganga movie at the Raw Science Film Festival that was attended by Hollywood celebrities. It is our hope that we will be able to kindle their interest to help us in our ongoing Us vs. HPV campaign. For more information, click here. To view the Lady Ganga movie, click here.
Our message reached 40 states, where organized activities were planned around HPV awareness. We are working hard to have the remaining 10 states to join our campaign.
Since the webinars have been very well received, we are continuing to reach out to several key organizations during the appropriate awareness months to see if they would like to provide a link/ embed the webinars on their sites in order to bring good information and disseminate the message. You can access all the relevant information at Us vs. HPV.
GIAHC has also formed a Us vs. HPV coalition in order to carry out its mission and to collaborate with the World Health organization (WHO) on the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative. With the launch of the HPV Prevention Week, we hope to continue our activities year-round.
Our partners on the Us vs. HPV webinar series, namely the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and Indiana University join us in thanking our audience and supporters in making this initiative valuable and impactful.
