Sharon Wu, Outreach Committee Co-Leader

Sharon is an MD-PhD student at Tufts University School of Medicine. She received her B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and is pursuing her PhD in Molecular Microbiology. Her thesis work examines how high-risk alpha and beta genus HPV E6 perturb developmental signaling pathways to promote oncogenesis. She co-founded the Tufts Oncology Interest Group, served as a Programming and Publicity Chair for American Medical Women’s Association Region 1 conferences, and volunteers with the American Physician Scientists Association mentoring program. As an Outreach co-lead, Sharon is excited to spearhead initiatives to improve public awareness of HPV-associated cancers and effective prevention strategies, enhance access to screening, and connect young leaders who are invested in GIAHC’s mission.
