Building Coalitions

GIAHC has worked with a number of partner organizations on various efforts to promote cervical cancer prevention through vaccination, screening and early treatment.

American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA)
GIAHC AND AMWA have recently launched a cervical cancer prevention education initiative, which targets young girls, boys, women, and men. We have created a toolkit with talking points, a PowerPoint presentation, an interactive game, and a fact sheet. The presentation also includes a short motivating video and empowering words. Organizations interested in leading an event in their community should feel free to contact us.

Basic Health International (BHI)
Partnered and supported a run/walk for cervical cancer awareness at Riverside Park, New York, NY.

CCA for Elimination
Founding member of the Cervical Cancer Action for Elimination (CCAE), a community of organizations and individuals working together to accelerate global progress towards cervical cancer elimination.

Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)
We are working with CHAI to raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention in Rwanda.

Coimbatore Cancer Foundation, India
GIAHC and Coimbatore Cancer Foundation (CCF) are working together on a campaign to increase awareness about HPV-related diseases in both women and men in India through social media, film and journalism. The partnership is also working to improve screening uptake through HPV DNA testing and self-sampling.

Duke University, Center for Global Women’s Health Technologies
Our partnership on Women-Inspired Strategies for Health (WISH), A Revolution against Cervical Cancer, proposal has been nominated on the top 100 by McArthur 100 and Change competition.

GIAHC Young Leaders Program
The GIAHC Young Leaders program provides a global platform for youth advocates to network and exchange knowledge regarding HPV and cervical cancers. For more information, click here. To become a champion/member, click here.

Global Film Fund
We have partnered with the Global Film Fund to dub the Lady Ganga movie starting with Hindi and Tamil. For more details, click here.

International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS)
GIAHC is an operating partner of the IPVS to mark the International HPV Awareness Day on March 4th. This was first initiated on March 4th 2018.

Rural Unit for Health and Social Affairs (RUSHA) at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India
The focus of GIAHCs partnership with Christian Medical College is on cervical cancer prevention. The “Educate, Screen & Treat” program is intended to detect cervical cancer and initiate treatment in the early stages of disease. The Cancer Prevention project is based in RHUSA, the rural hospital of Christian Medical College (CMC), approximately 3.5 hours drive south of Chennai. The project involves community-based peer education and implementation of cervical cancer screening through 18 of the 23 community-health-center-based clinics in the Kavikupam block of Tamil Nadu.

Union for Cancer Control (UICC)
GIAHC and partners at Union for Cancer Control (UICC) and BHI are working together to produce videos on the cervical cancer elimination initiative.

Uniting for Health Innovation (UfHI)
GIAHC is working with UfHI and Cayetano Herdia University in Lima, Peru with Dr. Patricia Garcia, former Minister of Health of Peru on Project HOPE. The HOPE Project will target Peru with the goal of reducing the number of women contracting cervical cancer in the region to serve as a model for the rest of Latin America. US vs HPV Coalition
GIAHC formed the Us vs HPV Coalition with local, regional, national and international organizations to advance its goals to increase the uptake of HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening and early treatment. In addition, GIAHC is also collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) on the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative. Areas of collaboration include mapping, messaging, advocacy and communications. The coalition will work towards reducing the burden of HPV related diseases and to eliminate cervical cancer globally.

Women in Negotiation (WIN)
We were an affiliate partner of WIN that hosted a virtual summit summit on “Women on the Front Lines to benefit healthcare heroes on the front lines with optional contributions to Mask a Hero.

Women Saving Women Movement
GIAHC’s Women Saving Women Movement invites women and women’s groups to join them in the global fight against cervical cancer. Please click here for details.

Youth+Tech+Health
GIAHC and YTH have partnered to explore possibilities to implement and evaluate an innovative digital campaign to educate and empower youth and their adults allies to reduce the burden of HPV-related diseases and cervical cancer.
